Dance for safety and belonging! Don't You Feel It Too? is grateful to be a part of the AYEEYO MURAL, MOVEMENT, AND STORYTELLING PROJECT on East Lake Street!

"Ayeeyo" means grandmother in Somali.

This project is to create a child-centered experience of belonging and safety on Lake Street around Ayeeyo Childcare Center and the surrounding blocks. We are saying YES to love and belonging and NO to racism and Islamophobia. We are working together with storytellers, visual artists, puppet theater performers, and others to increase the internal and external experience of safety. We will have DYFIT dancing on all these days:

Sunday, July 22 — Open Streets & Community Day

Sunday Aug 12, 4:00-6:00pm — Community Day 

Thursday, Aug 16, 5:30-7:00pm — Storytelling Day

Thursday, Aug 23, 5:30-7:00pm  — Storytelling Day

Sunday Aug 26, 4:00-6:00pm — Community Day

Thursday, Aug 30, 5:30-7:00pm — Storytelling Day

Thursday, Sep 6, 5:30-7:00pm — Storytelling Day 

Saturday Sept 22, 3:00-6:00pm — CELEBRATION! 

BRING your favorite pocket music and earbuds. We’ll have extra earbuds if you forget. Follow the project on Facebook, and join us on some of these event dates, from July 22 to the culminating celebration on September 9.
